    Double Decker City Bus Tour
Text and Pictures by Mathieu Deprez
Still relatively unknown to tourists, the Double Decker City Bus Tour is a very convenient way to discover the city in a flash. This bus run by the Seoul Metropolitan Government will take you to a maximum of tourist sites in a minimum of time and is thus ideal for people in transit and busy businessmen alike.
The tour, which departs in front of the Donghwa duty free shop on Gwanghwamun avenue (Gwanghwamun station, subway line 5, exit 6) will take you through some of the major sites in the city. Keep in mind that save from a 15 minutes break near COEX mall there are no stopovers. You will only drive by tourist attractions, without visiting them.

This two hours long tour is one of the best way to visit Seoul for visitors on a tight schedule. Buses are at 9:30 10:30 11:30 13:00 14:00 15:00 16:30 17:30 and run all year long. A night tour specially designed to take in the beauty of the city after nightfall is also available. Night buses depart at 19:30 and 20:00.

The modern and comfy buses are equipped with personal audio guides dispensing details and explanations (in English, Korean, Chinese or Japanese) on the various tourist sites along the way. The lower level is reserved for the elderly and the handicapped. The price is \12 000 return for adults and \8000 for students (\7000 and \5000 for a one-way trip to the COEX).

You can buy the tickets on the bus or book them through Internet (in English) by sending an email to senglish@visitseoul.net. Call 02-777-6090 for more info.

    Tip !
The best seats in the bus are on the second floor at the very front. The view is then spectacular. Try to be the first to board the bus ! It is also a perfect spot from which to take pictures as the seats offer an interesting perspective on the city.
